 Summer is nearly here which means you're likely busy making plans with family, enjoying quality time with your kids, and possibly gearing up for a holiday or two in the coming weeks or months. But what does this mean for your business?

So many entrepreneurs decide to just stop selling over the summer months, assuming that consumer demand dwindles and no one will be watching or purchasing during the holiday season. But that’s absolutely not the case! 

In this blog, I explain why summer is the perfect time to be selling in your business (even if you're having time off or on holiday!) and also give you some tips and tricks to help you sell during summer. 

 

Why is summer a good time to sell?

Most people take time off over the summer because the children are off school and it's holiday season… but everyone is on social media! Probably more so than usual as they're in relax-mode.

Summer often provides more opportunities for people to engage with online content while on vacation or relaxing at home… Leverage this in your business!

Whilst most people stop selling out of the fear no one will buy, I will be here still selling and still making money - and having some of the best months of the year!

Remember, you don't need to be working in your business every day to sell every day. Whether you are 100% involved or 10% involved, your business can still make you money… IF you have the right strategies, systems and processes in place to allow you to do so!

 

Here is how you can still sell and still make money every day during summer:

  1. Reducing your number of 1:1 clients (or removing this business model completely!)

Instead, turn your expertise into a group program that only requires a few hours of your time per week. Think about how you can make your program highly valuable without you needing to jump on and off calls all the time i.e. by bringing in guest experts to share their insights and providing an in-depth online portal with pre-recorded trainings for your clients to work through in their own time and at their own pace. 

  1. Implementing an automated strategy into your business.

This strategy takes your audience from cold to ready-to-buy all through automation so you don't have to keep live launching your offers. Creating an automated strategy will allow you to attract and convert leads every day, even when you are not working. 

Here is a simple breakdown of how this strategy works:

STEP ONE: Create a super enticing lead magnet with a clear end result.

STEP TWO: Create an opt in page for this freebie.

STEP THREE: Attach this opt in page to a thank you page with a no-brainer low priced offer (priced $17-$47).

STEP FOUR: Create an automated email sequence to upsell into your mid or high ticket offer.

Thanks to our automated strategy that is set up in the background, our business generates an average of 4 figures cash every single day. It’s thanks to this strategy I have been able to scale to 2 million dollars in revenue in just a few years as a new mum, whilst working just 15-20 hours per week. 

  1. Using click to buy or a DM strategy instead of doing sales calls.

You do not have to jump on and off sales calls to sell your offers, remember! Detailed sales pages and giving people the option to DM you to learn more can be just as effective as sales calls. We also find personalised voicenotes are working extremely well right now.

  1. Reinvesting into a team member

A team is an investment, not an expense. Remember, you do not need a huge team if you don't want a huge team. Hiring out one or two team members to take some of the work off your plate will make a big difference and allow you to focus on the things that require your face and voice. For your first hires, I would consider a PA / a Copywriter / a sales manager. Don't forget, you don't have to employee these people full-time; you can look for freelancers when you need them.

In conclusion, don't let the misconception that summer is a slow season for sales hold you back from maximising your business' potential. You can take as much time as you want off, enjoy time with family, and spend two weeks away or more on holiday and STILL make sales every single day. 

By implementing the right strategies and systems into your business, you can begin to work smarter instead of harder and make sales on-repeat even when you are not working in your business.
